The energy developed by most BB guns is 0.5 joules maximum - by comparison a funfair air gun is approximately 10 joules (20 times more). In normal use the lightweight pellets would not penetrate the skin, but would certainly sting or bruise. We would not recommend firing at people but in any situation where the pellet could hit a person safety goggles and clothing should be worn.

Most BB hand guns are cocked by pulling back the top slide. Once cocked ensure that the model is never pointed at anyone, particularly as there may not be an effective safety catch.

Taurus 24/7 pistols are short recoil operated, locked breech pistols that use modified Browning-type locking, with single lug on the barrel engaging the ejection port in the slide. Frames of Taurus 24/7 pistols are made from impact-resistant polymer; slides can be made from carbon or stainless steel. Trigger is either double / single action or double action only, striker-fired, with internal firing pin block safety and manual safety, located on the left side of the frame.
