The energy developed by most BB guns is 0.5 joules maximum - by comparison a funfair air gun is approximately 10 joules (20 times more). In normal use lightweight BB pellets would not penetrate the skin, but would certainly sting or bruise. We would not recommend firing at people but in any situation where the pellet could hit a person safety goggles and clothing should be worn.

Black plastic model of the Ithaca sawn off shot gun first produced in 1937, wood effect stock and butt. Single shot firing one or two pellets. Use 6mm lightweight BB's (0.11 or 0.12g). Approximately 500 included. Magazine capacity 46. Length 620mm, height 130mm, width 43mm. power approx 0.3 -04 joules, estimated range 15-20 metres.

The M37 was a favourite weapon in Vietnam, especially in confined spaces such as underground tunnels.
